Nature or Nurture?

I believe that what we think is "nature" is really just nurture that we were never aware of.

I don’t believe nurturing can be done online.

We become great and good by the quality of the people we surround ourselves with. It’s the "In Real Life" kind of people that we interact with, “the people in our neighborhood” that show us examples of how to live, and inspire us to dream in practical and tangible ways. It’s the spontaneous conversations we have in the moment.

Curated “influencers” and online content are no substitutes for learning from a real person, in real-time.

I believe that becoming good at anything requires a coach, a trusted advisor, and/or (at the very least) someone to hold us accountable. Someone who can nurture, encourage and see us for who we are and has the life experience and interpersonal skills to meet us where we are at. Someone who can create solutions and provide instruction that is specific to our needs and the challenges we are facing on that particular day, at that particular time, in that particular moment.

We do not become good in a vacuum.

We all have the opportunity to lift each other up through honest human interaction and respectful feedback, and it’s up to us to not only nurture the relationships we are in, but to seek out real people who can nurture us in return and journey with us in the direction of our dreams.

That said, let me guide you through my system for learning how to drum. It’s practical, scalable and provides a solid foundation to those seeking a good pathway to becoming a drummer. Should you want to learn more about my system, pick up a copy of my drum book First Steps for the Beginning Drummer. You can order it from Amazon or purchase it from me directly, at our first lesson.

Schedule your lesson today and let’s start working together! In the meantime, feel free to get in touch via the contact form below.
